It may be confusing whether to place your child into preschool or not. When it comes to your decision about preschoolling you may get a lot of different opinions from a lot of different people. You will also find out just how passionate people are on this subject.

Often the subject can be a heated debate. Many feel that if a child does not get the education and socialization before regular school they will be behind mentally, socially and physically. They will argue and debate the issue until it becomes heated.

Then there are others who feel like it is a big waste of time. They wonder why people are pushing their children to grow up so fast and learn outside of the home. They feel that the parents who put their children in preschool are getting rid of them too fast and pushing them when they should be having fun. Then there are parents who are just undecided and seeking advice.

Both points of view are just that, opinions. You have the final word and neither is wrong for your child. But there are sometimes extenuating circumstances; such as the work of the parents. Perhaps your child is in day care during the day. In this case being in a preschool may be more challenging and fun for them. Or perhaps you have an only child and they do not see a lot of people besides yourself.

A good part about preschool is that it gives a child a chance to socialize outside of the home. In addition to the learning potential they are learning behavioral issues that may not be taught in the home. Even good homes that raise good children benefit from their children learning to deal with others outside of their immediate environment.

This is not a reason on its own. If your child has siblings or other friends outside of the home that they see often then they are learning socialization skills. Group settings such as a church environment can also help. You can also do educational learning at home, which your child can be just as prepared for primary school, if not more extensively, depending on the program.

The debate of preschoolling will rage on, as people stay committed to their opinions. However, you should not let someone sway you into a situation that you do not want to be in. As a parent it is your ultimate decision whether you place your child into a preschool environment or not.
